Culture in Vienna

The IWGS takes place in Tulln, which is close to Vienna. Vienna is certainly one of the most vibrant cities in the world offering an impressive range of culture, history and arts, among which the city centre of Vienna with St. Stephens square, Schoenbrunn Castle, Belvedere Castle, the muzeums along the Ringstrasse are just a few of the many highlights to mention.


Vienna City Marathon, Sunday April 23

The 2017 Vienna City Marathon took place on Sunday, April 23.
Our IOC member Cristobal Uauy (JIC) and friends participated in the 2017 Vienna City Marathon and enjoyed the event very much. We were certainly the first IWGS with an marathon running team!


Sight-seeing Tour of Imperial Vienna, Wednesday, April 26

Wednesday, April 26 2017, will be a free afternoon without scientific sessions. We offer a sight-seeing and culture tour of Imperial Vienna for IWGS participants and accompanying persons: information.


Accompanying Persons Program

We offered tours to local cultural highlights for IWGS accompanying persons, such as the Tulln garden exhibition or the Egon Schiele Museum in Tulln.


Wachau-Ticket

Discover with train and ship the natural and cultural beauty of the Wachau, the picturesque Danube valley not far from Tulln. In the Benedictine abbey visitors see interesting museum rooms, the Marble Hall and an unforgettable view oft he Danube valley: information.
